Immersive Experience Description

This 10-week course is designed to introduce adult learners to the foundational concepts, practices, and impact of diversity, equity, and inclusion in personal, professional, and community settings. Through self-reflection, discussion, real- world examples, and interactive exercises, participants will explore identity, bias, systemic inequality, and inclusive communication. By the end of the course, learners will have the knowledge and tools to engage in meaningful conversations, take informed actions, and contribute to more equitable and inclusive environments.

 

Competencies

By the end of the experience, learners will be able to:

·      Define and differentiate diversity, equity, inclusion, and related terms.

·      Identify their own social identities and recognize personal and systemic biases.

·      Understand the historical and social context of inequity and its present-day effects.

·      Communicate inclusively and recognize microaggressions and exclusionary behavior.
